MICHAYWÉ
ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR
CELEBRATES ITS
35TH ANNIVERSARY
FRIDAY August 9th & SATURDAY August 10th, 2013
10:00 AM to 5:00 PM BOTH DAYS
Michaywé is proud to be celebrating the 35th Anniversary of its Annual Arts & Crafts Fair on Friday, August 9th and Saturday August 10th from 10AM to 5PM both days. Many favorite artists and crafters will be returning along with many new ones to help celebrate this event.
Located just 8 miles south of Downtown Gaylord, Michaywé is a peaceful four-season recreational community nestled in the winding hills and lush woodlands of Northern Michigan. Over 2,000 acres of forest, lakes and streams creates the back drop for over 950 homes.
Michaywé’s Clubhouse and the surrounding 5 acre wooded park-like setting offers plenty of space for over 100 local artists and crafters as well as artisans from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to Florida and from New Jersey to Arizona. Their juried handcrafted quality creations include ceramics, baskets, stained glass, jewelry, clothing, purses, paintings, photography, home decor and lawn ornaments as well as many more unique and wonderful items. Some of the food items offered for sale include wonderful sausage, breads, jams, jellies, cookies and kettle corn. Lunch specials and beverages will be available in the picnic area by the Michaywé Pro Shop’s “Jack Pine Grill” and in the clubhouse at the “Inn the Woods” restaurant.
The outstanding success of the Michaywé Arts and Crafts Fair is due not only to the wonderful artists and crafters but also the hundred or so Michaywé volunteers who work hard and love to pamper the artisans and attendees with perks that are not found at other art shows. In addition, the Gaylord area auto dealerships lend vehicles to shuttle the customers and artisans from parking areas right into the Fair. Package pick up is available for items to big or heavy to carry around the fair. The Gaylord radio station Eagle 101.5FM broadcasts live from the fair as well.
The Michaywé grounds and clubhouse are located at 1535 Opal Lake Road. From I-75 exit 279, go south on Old 27 (away from Gaylord), turn left at Charles Brink Road (yellow blinking light), and follow the signs. For more information call the Michaywé office at 989-939-8919 or send an e-mail to artfair@michaywe.com.
